UN: global economic losses last year was 4.3%

Global GDP declined last year under the impact of the pandemic by about 4.3 percent, marking the sharpest decline in global output since the Great Depression. By comparison, during 2009 crisis, the decline was 1.7%. That's the data cites the UN in its report on the status and prospects for the global economy. The volume of global trade last year declined by 7.6%, which Was the result of widespread disruptions in supply chains. A negative impact on this indicator has also had a sharp deterioration in the tourism industry. As the U.N. notes, developed countries that have imposed developed countries that have enforced strict quarantine have been the hardest hit by the spread coronavirus, with their production down 5.6 percent. This year, the organization expects moderate economic growth, which, 4.7%, it predicts. A repeat outbreak of coronavirus, which occurred in the third quarter of last year, has reduced the chances  of a swift recovery.
