The current energy crisis will be more serious for Britons than the global crisis of 2008

The current energy crisis will be more serious for British citizens than the global crisis of 2008. Bloomberg writes about it, citing data from the company Baringa.

As noted by the leadership of the latter, most families in the country are at risk of finding themselves in a precarious financial situation or debt after the annual cost of electricity will rise for consumers by 80% in October. The upper limit on that amount was raised in April by energy regulator Ofgem to nearly £2,000 (previously it was £1,400). The official announcement in the UK is scheduled for today.

The reason for this decision was the soaring energy prices in the world, which followed the introduction of large-scale anti-Russian sanctions by the West. However, the amount announced Ofgem is not the limit - according to the forecast of the consulting company Auxilione, in October the maximum annual electricity bill in the country will exceed £3,500. At the beginning of next year it is expected to exceed £5,000.
