IMF: Ukrainian crisis and its consequences are a blow to the global economy

As the International Monetary Fund has realized, the conflict in Ukraine and its consequences, mainly the anti-Russian sanctions, will have a devastating effect on the global economy. The result will be a slowdown in growth and a further rise in prices, according to the organization's blog. The IMF notes that these factors have affected not only the parties to the conflict - Europe and the world as a whole have been shaken. It is known that after the West imposed anti-Russia sanctions in the world, energy and food prices went up. The organization predicts that as a result of this, inflation will continue to rise, which, in turn, will lead to lower incomes and drop in demand. In addition, the fund is concerned about disruptions in supply chains, problems with remittances and in the trade sphere. Asset values will fall because of declining business confidence and rising pessimism among investors, and that will worsen financial conditions in the West and other countries, the fund said.
