European stock exchanges rose on the financial results of large companies

The main European stock indices rose at the end of trading, which was facilitated by the season of corporate reporting. German DAX added 0.35%, British FTSE 100 - 0.64%, French CAC 40 - 0.38%.

Swiss pharmaceutical corporation Novartis, which reported a 37% increase in net income in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, topped the list of leaders. Its revenue increased by 7%. The company expects sales growth of 7 - 9% this year. Players reacted optimistically - its shares rose by 4.64% by the end of trading.

Activity on European platforms was stimulated by the increase in oil prices, which supported the securities of energy concerns. Shares of British Petroleum added 1.36%, French Total - 1.18%.

Today, players are expecting the release of data on inflation in the eurozone. According to analysts, it will not change and will remain at the level of preliminary estimates - 5.5%.
