European stock exchanges hit new highs

The main European stock indices ended Thursday in positive territory. Two of them reached their maximum values, helped by positive financial statements of European corporations and growth during four trading sessions in a row, RBC reports.

German DAX exceeded 15,600 points in trading that last time occurred a year ago. It closed at 15,533.64 points (+0.18%).

The positive financial results of the British company Centrica dealing with gas deliveries served as the growth driver - its shares grew by 6%.

We should also note the jump of German Commerzbank shares by 8% after the report of a 12% increase in net profit in the fourth quarter.

CAC 40 ended the session up 0.89%. The Stoxx Europe 600 reached its maximum value for the year - 467.86 p.
