Moody’s downgraded global economic growth forecasts

Moody's revised its global economic growth forecast for this year downward - the new estimate is 0.5 percentage points lower than the previous one and amounts to 3.1%. At the same time, the agency expects higher inflation this year and next year. It justified its view by the tightening of monetary policy by global central banks and long-term supply problems that contribute to higher prices and have a negative impact on purchasing power. The economic growth forecasts for the United States, Europe, and China were also lowered to 2.8%, 2.5%, and 4.5% this year from 3.7%, 2.8%, and 5.2%, respectively, the previous forecasts. For the next year the forecasts for the economy, both for the world and individual regions, remained unchanged for the time being. According to the agency, it is necessary to prepare for hard currency and financial conditions in the world, which will come in the last quarter of this year.
